INA, Ill. (March 11, 2024)—Rend Lake College believes in affordable education. At the February Board of Trustees meeting, members unanimously voted to once again keep the tuition rate flat for residents of the college’s district.
The in-district tuition rate will remain $110 per credit hour for summer 2024 through spring 2025. The out-of-district and out-of-state tuition rates also went unchanged at $220 per credit hour.
“One of the most significant keys to ensuring student success is to make sure that a college education remains affordable,” said John Gulley, RLC’s Chief Financial Officer. “We are pleased that we are able to keep in-district tuition rates the same at Rend Lake College for the ninth-straight year. This enables us to remain one of the most affordable community colleges in the state of Illinois, and it proves our commitment to providing value to the community we serve.”
Two years at RLC costs less than one semester at any public university in Illinois. Students who take 30 or more credit hours at RLC pay an estimated $4,500 a year in tuition and fees. Public universities in Illinois can charge upwards of $17,500 a year in tuition and fees. When you add room and board, and books, the cost of an entire degree at RLC is less than one semester at any public university in the state.
